The ATI celebrates the World Theatre Day with launching the new website and three specialized websites in Czech and English. The aim of the new concept is a more unified and efficient presentation of all disciplines, which emphasizes interconnection of the websites and projects, makes it easier for the users to orientate and facilitates data administration and updates.
“The ATI website was created more than 10 years ago, when technological limits and users’ demands were completely different than they are now. As our institution has expanded the portfolio of our services, it was necessary to make the activities more comprehensible and facilitate orientation when searching for information. New portals offer a transparent structure of services according to users and subjects,” Pavla Petrová, the ATI director, explains.
Apart from the institutional website, the ATI has also launched one interdisciplinary and two specialized portals focused on pro-export foreign activities: SoundCzech, PeformCzech and Czechmobility.info.
The pro-export office SoundCzech, which was founded last year, focuses on the support of “contemporary competitive music” produced in the Czech Republic in the variety of genres. SoundCzech offers a bilingual website aiming at various groups. Whereas the Czech version provides information on current calls and workshops, the English version is based on information and address books with links to actors in Czech music industry as it is aimed at foreign music managers. The portal PerformCzech has similar contents – news and databases from the field of theatre, dance and contemporary circus with the aim to interconnect professionals at the international level.
The most recent ATI project is Czechmobility.info, a service unparalleled in the Czech Republic. The project is based on long-term cooperation with foreign networks and partners, where similar information points for international mobility have been in operation for many years (e.g. DutchCulture/TransArtists, Wales Arts International or MobiCulture). One of the most important partners in this respect is the network to support international mobility On the Move, but the greatest inspiration for the Czech information point was Touring Artists associated with the ITI Centre in Berlin. The main partner in the Czech Republic in the field of preparing the studies is Fair Art association.
The information portal is designed for all professionals in culture, who have to deal with practical issues regarding international artistic cooperation, taxes, visa, insurance or artist’s contacts. The core of the project is an online information portal, the activities of the information point also include consultations and workshops. The portal is in Czech and English.
Early July will see the launch of the new website of the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, the biggest world exhibition with its 14 th edition taking place next year at Výstaviště in Prague. The information portal divadlo.cz has also acquired a fresh look – it brings comprehensive information about Czech and partly foreign theatre events.
The presentation of ATI activities and specialized websites administered by more than 10 professionals in various fields aims at the general public abroad, potential ATI partners, artists, agencies, festival representatives, professionals and journalists. It also aims at the Czech general public with specializations in their fields, creative designers, officials, students or culture professionals.
