The workshop provides Czech-German and German-Czech translators with the opportunity to work together on specific projects and discuss issues connected with translation and with work-related and political conditions in individual countries. The workshop is headed by two experienced translators and has a maximum number of twelve participants. The specialty areas translators focus on include fiction, poetry, academic literature, plays, and essays. Translators interested in participating must have at least one published work of translation.
The workshop is funded by the Toledo Translation Fund and the Robert Bosch Stiftung with the support of the Czech-German Fund for the Future, the Goethe-Institut Prague, the Arts and Theatre Institute, and the Czech Literary Centre.
