The director general of Czech Centers (CC) Ondřej Černý and the director of the Arts and Theatre Institute (ATI) Pavla Petrová signed the Memorandum on Cooperation of both institutions, regarding the support of cultural projects, on Friday, December 20, 2019.

Signing the document means the declaration of support and cooperation in selected areas of the development of cultural projects. The main goal of the declaration is to make use of the current potential of Czech Centers and the ATI to provide long-term cooperation with the efficient impact on the international promotion of the Czech Republic. Representatives of both institutions expressed their interest in the mutual support in international events. The cooperation concerns areas associated with production and sharing of presentation projects, cooperation in making concepts of selected international exhibitions, better information links, and opportunities for cooperation with professionals and specialists in both institutions.

ONDŘEJ ČERNÝ, DIRECTOR GENERAL OF CZECH CENTRES:

“The present intensive cooperation between Czech Centers and the Arts and Theatre Institute has obtained a clear plan and new impulses related to content. And it also becomes the inseparable part of the uniform international presentation of Czech culture, with the main protagonists being the founders of both institutions, the Ministry of Culture (ATI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (CC).

PAVLA PETROVÁ, DIRECTOR OF ATI:

“ATI’s mission is to provide Czech and international public with complex services in theatre and selected services from other art disciplines (music, literature, dance and visual arts). We collect, process, and open up collection objects related to theatre, deal with research and education, participate in international projects, and publish scholarly works. We are also the seat of the Creative Europe – Culture office. Realization of international exhibitions and residential stays for Czech artists, coordination of curators’ journeys, visitors programmes, press trips, presentation and promotion of Czech music and other performing arts in the territories of the Czech Centers international network rank among important agenda items. Thus, I consider cooperation with Czech Centers to be yet another move in international promotion and presentation of the Czech Republic.”
