Tomáš Kubart is a theatre historian, pedagogue and publicist. Since 2019 he has been working at the Research Team for Modern Czech Theatre at the Institute for Czech Literature of the CAS, and since 2024 at the Theatre Institute - ATI as a researcher, focusing on the history of Czech theatre in the first and second half of the 20th century, German-language drama, scenography, performance and action art. He has taught or lectured at the JAMU in Brno, DAMU in Prague, the Department of Theatre Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the Masaryk University in Brno, the Department of Theatre and Film Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University in Olomouc , and the Department of Cultural Dramaturgy at the Silesian University in Opava. He is the author and co-author of studies (Theatralia, Theatre revue, Arte Acta, Acta Universitatis Carolinae, Illuminace, etc.), articles and publications. He is a member of the Theatrical Society, the Association of Czech Theatre Critics and Critics AICT/IACT, ČOSDAT/OISTAT, dramaturgical boards, and the jury of the Josef Balvín Award.
