Věra Velemanová is a theatre scholar and theatre historian. Since 2000 she has been working at ATI as a researcher, focusing on the history of scenography. Her other specialization is the theatre activities of the Russian emigration in interwar Czechoslovakia and the theatre of the Czechoslovak legions in Russia in 1914-1920. She is the author or co-author of studies, articles and publications (some of which she worked on as an editor) and curator of theatre and scenography exhibitions, and teaches the history of scenography at universities. She is an active member of the Scenographic Working Group of FIRT, an international theatrical organization.
