Theatre News is a non-profit, biweekly cultural journal that was launched in 1992 as a direct successor to the biweekly journal Scéna věnovaný divadlu i filmu (Theatre and Film Scene). Theatre News explores and discusses contemporary Czech theatre work and examines it in the context of the international theatre scene.

World and Theatre is a bimonthly publication that has existed since 1990. Alongside articles about theatre and about productions, people, dramas, and festivals in the field, it explores aesthetic, political, and philosophical topics, and publishes first Czech editions and original and translated works for the stage. The journal’s mission is to keep its readers regularly and knowledgeably informed about the theatre in a wider context.   

Puppeteer is the oldest journal in the world dedicated to puppetry. With the exception of the war years, it has been published continuously since 1912 and it essentially serves as a chronicle of the history of Czech puppet theatre. Puppeteer is published quarterly in print. The journal’s target readership includes professional and amateur puppeteers, teachers, and anyone who is interested in puppet theatre.

Dance Zone is the only periodical published in print in the Czech Republic that is entirely dedicated to dance. Launched in 1997, the magazine covers and discusses events in the current Czech dance scene, serves as a source of informed commentary for professional artists, and provides readers with important news from the international dance scene. Dance Zone is published quarterly in print.   

Four Days is a non-profit NGO that has been organising the international site-specific contemporary arts festival 4+4 Days in Motion since 1996. It is also involved in a number of other cultural projects. The 4+4 Days in Motion festival is designed to showcase contemporary innovative projects in the arts.

The International Organisation of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (OISTAT) was founded in 1969 in Prague. The Czech Centre provides consultation and information and acts as a coordinator in these fields and it pursues activities through the civic association ČOSDAT.

The Institute of Lighting Design’s mission is to serve as an information platform and network of contacts for the full spectrum artists, organisations, and practitioners (technicians) operating in the field of lighting design and to engage them in regional and international projects. It provides an information service with news on organised events (e.g. performances, exhibitions, lectures, fairs). The Institute of Lighting Design is officially a project of the civic association ČOSDAT.

The Theatre Research Society, which was established in 1997 in Prague, is an open civic association that assembles researchers and scholars specialising in the theatre arts, as well as theatre artists and anyone who is interested in the theatre and theatre research.

Dance Vision is a professional organisation that brings together professionals from the fields of dance, movement theatre, circus arts, and related branches of the arts, along with managers, theorists, and critics working in these fields. Its mission is to improve the working conditions of professionals and the quality of their education and to support the development of professional infrastructure. Dance Vision also coordinates the national events that are organised to celebrate International Dance Day.

The Association of Independent Theatre in the Czech Republic (AIT CR) was established in 2016 as an open association of theatre groups, production houses, and individual artists working in independent theatres (i.e. theatres that do not fall under the authority of the public administration) across the country, and it also communicates with other theatre organisations or groups on issues of shared interest. One of its primary interests is to promote transparency in the conditions and environment in which the independent theatre arts operate.  

The Dance Career Endowment Fund is the only organisation in the Czech Republic that provides active support to professionals in the fields of dance, movement theatre, and the circus arts in their transition to a new career and in their preparation for this transition. It works to develop a system designed to ensure that dancers have the support they need when they are in the process of changing careers. The foundation was established in 2015 by Dance Vision and the Czech Dance Association.

Popular is the name of a registered association that focuses on projects dedicated to Czech-Polish cultural cooperation. Since 2014 it has been organising a four-day film festival and other activities under the event title ‘Bardzo fajný’.

Cílem Asociace divadelních lektorů, z.s. je rozvíjet obor divadelního lektorství, podporovat spolupráci lektorů
a profesionálních divadel, pořádat inspirativní workshopy a semináře k tématu práce s divadelním publikem, sdružovat a dále vzdělávat členy Asociace, sdílet zkušenosti
a příklady dobré praxe. Zakladateli Asociace jsou Národní divadlo, Národní divadlo moravskoslezské, Divadlo Drak, DAMU a JAMU.
